Lily’s feet carried her forward as the path beneath her shifted once again. The bright glow of the Grove of Forgiveness began to fade into the distance, replaced by the soft, earthy scent of freshly tilled soil and blooming flowers. The air was still and quiet, filled only with the sound of soft rustling leaves and distant birdsong. The trees here were taller, their trunks gnarled and wise-looking, each one stretching upward as though reaching for the sky. Their leaves shimmered in shades of green, gold, and silver.

‘This is the Garden of Patience,’ Kiki whispered as they walked together. ‘It’s a place where the slow, steady rhythms of nature remind us that good things take time. Here, Lily, you’ll learn that patience isn’t about waiting—it’s about understanding that growth happens in its own time, in its own way.’

Lily looked around in awe. The garden was unlike anything she had ever seen before. The ground was soft, and patches of vibrant flowers, plants, and herbs spread out in every direction. It was a garden of endless beauty, but one that was so perfectly arranged, so natural in its growing process, that it almost seemed to breathe with a life of its own.

As they walked deeper into the garden, Lily noticed the creatures who lived here. They were not like any she had encountered before. They resembled slow-growing trees themselves, with bodies that looked like trunks and branches, yet they had faces—gentle, wise, and kind. Their limbs were thick and knotted, moving slowly but surely, and their eyes glowed softly, filled with quiet understanding.

‘This is the family of the Arborans,’ Kiki explained. ‘The Arborans are the guardians of patience. They know that everything in life takes time—whether it’s growing a tree, learning a new skill, or waiting for something important to happen.’

One of the Arborans, a wise-looking creature with bark-like skin and moss-covered hair, stepped forward and greeted Lily with a warm smile. ‘Welcome, Lily,’ the Arborn said in a slow, calm voice. ‘I am Sylva, keeper of the Garden of Patience. Here, we learn that the beauty of life lies not in rushing toward the future but in embracing the moment and allowing time to work its magic.’

Lily felt a gentle warmth as she looked around. The slow-growing trees that made up the Arborans’ bodies reminded her of how sometimes, things in life take their own time to grow, just like plants or trees. The path ahead seemed long and winding, and she felt like there was so much left to learn in this magical land.

Sylva smiled at Lily’s curiosity. ‘Patience is not something that happens overnight. It’s a skill we must practice, one moment at a time. You see, patience isn’t about simply waiting—it’s about understanding the value of growth, of taking the time to learn and develop. Sometimes, we want things to happen immediately, but the most beautiful things require time, care, and nurturing.’

Lily nodded, though a small seed of doubt grew in her heart.
